Our first LP “Eschaton” is complete and barring any further disasters we will have 100 black 12″s available for our record release weekend on July 23 & 24. Our record release weekend is also your last chance to witness Seasick live for an undetermined extended period of time, as I am relocating to LA to pursue my doctorate. Some more details regarding our proudest moment (read: this LP);
- A limited number of pre-orders are available at grounduprecords.bigcartel.com for those of you unable to attend our final pre-hiatus shows.
- You can hear two tracks from the LP on Facebook (look us up) or www.myspace.com/seasick
- Eschaton will eventually see a proper, large-quanity vinyl release on a certain and as of right now unnamed European label.
- A CD version will soon be available on Crew for Life records.
- The record-release version will have different artwork from the future versions of the release designed by Jason Gardner.

Slew of updates:
1) Indefinite hiatus
2) Our first LP entitled “Eschaton”
3) Final shows before hiatus
4) Japanese tour wrap up
5) Future touring
1) Indefinite Hiatus – Seasick is going on indefinite hiatus as I begin to pursue my doctorate at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles this September. We are not breaking up. What this means is that Seasick will no longer be an active New Jersey local band. We still plan on touring (more on that below), albeit mostly internationally. Those in the states should only expect a handful of shows from us each year. It is also worth mentioning that we may end up playing more West Coast shows than one might ordinarily expect from New Jersey based band on account of my relocating to LA.
2) Our first LP entitled “Eschaton” – This week we begin recording our new LP with Ryan Jones and assuming everything runs according to plan, we anticipate a late-July release date before the hiatus. Our friends from Ground Up Records based out of the Jersey Shore is pressing this to 100 black 12″s that will only be available through pre-order and at our record release/final show weekend July 23/24. There is no foreseeable plan to repress the record in the states. “Eschaton” is likely to see a proper pressing in Europe and Japan before the US due to time constraints. Keep an eye out for an official announcement soon as we iron out a few details. Bottom line is that if you want to hear this record sooner than later keep your eyes peeled for an early July pre-order announcement from Ground Up Records and us. Five years of EPs have led up to this moment. It is the best representation of this band yet.
“Eschaton” LP artwork by Jason Gardner (limited pressing will have different covers). Obi-strip not depicted.

3) Final shows before hiatus – Right now we have 4 shows left in NJ and 3 out-of-sate shows. It is unlikely that we’ll add anymore shows. These are your guaranteed final opportunities to see us for at least six months.

4) Japanese tour wrap up – Japan was an incredible experience and is without a doubt our favorite tour. We are forever indebted to far too many people to form a comprehensive list. The following bands/labels are all worth checking out: Crew for Life Records, Crucial Section, Spymaster, Bad Dirty Hate, Backstab, Life, Unarm, Eyesore, Cosmic Neurosis, Hatsuri, Reduction, et cetera. We have a few shirts and CDs leftover from tour, so we’re having a sale.
Some videos have begun surfacing from tour:
Tokyo:
Osaka:
Nagoya:
5) Future touring – Our plans beyond July include a combined Europe/Japan May 2011 tour. Details are already being worked out. This trip is likely to be our only touring in 2011 unless we can manage to bring one of some of our new Japanese friends over to tour the West or East coast. Again, plans are already in the works.

It sucks writing about your own band, so here is the newest six song tape featuring two members of Seasick. The band is called Kicking Spit and the tape is “PsychRockBullshit.” It’s six songs of varying influence and questionable songwriting. We will be going on two week tour in mid-March. Download the record here.
Also out soon is our split with Texas punx Stymie on Cowabunga Records — where you can mail order the record.

| Following in the veritable punk tradition of playing loud and aggressive music to people with zero interest in hearing loud and aggressive music, SEASICK will be playing a fashion show THIS TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 16th during FASHION WEEK in New York City.
In what can only be described as an unusual chain of events, we’ll be performing at the “Hardware Collective” at 169 Bowery in Manhattan at the fashion show of SIRI IM (?). http://www.sikiim.com/ This is where you come in. We want to make our participation in this event just as absurd in reality as it sounds in theory. There will be some form of open bar and we can bring as many guests as we want. All you need to know is you should be there by 8pm and if anyone tries to turn you away tell them you’re with us. If you don’t think the very concept of us playing this gig is absurd, then here are some other peculiarities about this spectacle: - We are playing THREE sets. |
Amidst my Lost fueled haze, I thought it only proper to inform the hypnotized followers of Seasick about what they’ll be doing tomorrow night.
Of course, as you must certainly be aware by now, we will be performing at benefit show for the “Food Not Bombs” of New Brunwick. Given that this show is for a cause, expect us to a rousing rendition of a classic collaboration of star who care.
Not that you need it, because there is no way to break yourself away from your destiny, here is the rest of the information:
SATURDAY FEBRUARY 6, 2010 – 7 PM sharp
@ ASK SOMEBODY – NEW BRUNSWICK NEW JERSEY
SEASICK
ZHENIA GOLOV (Whoa. First show in forever!)
OUTLAST (hardcore band)
JOHN WILKES YOUTH (hardcore fans)
Headlining the show will be 12 inches of snow. So, a more accurate look into the future, would be your annoyance as you dig yourself out of the white wrath of Chione. See you then!
